PadiDoctors processes personal and health data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the National Health Act 2014, and other applicable regulations. This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including patients and clinicians.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Identification data: name, email, phone, date of birth, sex;
  • Health data: symptoms, vitals, medical history, consultation notes, uploaded files;
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, logs and usage metadata;
  • Payment-related data: transaction references and billing details from payment providers.

We process personal and health data under the following legal bases:

  • Consent (NDPA Section 26), obtained when you create an account or use our services;
  • Healthcare provision & public interest in the area of public health (NDPA Section 27);
  • Contract performance, to deliver the services you request;
  • Legitimate interest, such as securing the Platform and improving our services;
  • Legal obligations, including regulatory reporting and record retention requirements.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • create and manage your PadiDoctors account;
  • perform symptom triage and support telemedicine consultations;
  • generate and store medical records and prescriptions;
  • provide follow-up advice and health education;
  • monitor and improve Platform performance and user experience;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

5. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your data. We may share data with:

  • licensed clinicians providing care through the Platform;
  • third-party service providers (hosting, messaging, analytics) under strict data protection agreements;
  • labs, pharmacies, or hospitals at your request or with your consent;
  • regulators or law enforcement where required by law.

6. Cross-Border Transfers

Where data is stored or processed outside Nigeria, we take steps to ensure adequate protection in line with NDPA provisions on cross-border data transfer, including the use of appropriate safeguards and contractual clauses.

7. Data Retention

We retain health records and related information for the periods required by law and professional standards, typically not less than six (6) years for clinical records, unless a longer period is required for legal or regulatory reasons. 8. Your Rights

Under NDPA and NDPR, you have rights including:

  • access to your personal data;
  • correction of inaccurate data;
  • request for deletion in certain circumstances;
  • restriction or objection to certain processing;
  • data portability, where applicable;
  • withdrawal of consent (without affecting prior lawful processing).
